Highlights

Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God’s infinite grace and power.

Can a soul that is so weak in grace, so prone to sin, so nearly joined to such a neighbor as this flesh, have full content and rest in such a case?

It is as foolish an idea to think that we can fit ourselves for grace as if a child in the womb could forward its natural birth: if God has made us men, let us not make ourselves gods.

Unfathomable oceans of grace are in Christ for you. Dive and dive again, you will never come to the bottom of these depths.

Wo is me, that I was so loose, rash, vain, and graceless, in my unbelieving thoughts of Christ's love!

God has a sufficiency of His Spirit for all flesh, there is a sufficiency of His Spirit for you, and He has enough grace for you.

Few joys can be compared with discovering the wonder of God’s grace.

If the grace of God be in them, it will bring it out, and cause it to display itself.

God is eminently and fully engaged to carry on the work of grace in His children's souls.

Thomas Brooks, We May Puff and Blow Our Hearts Out

All the pious workings of our heart towards God are the fruit and consequence of the powerful working of His grace in us.

Grace makes the heart tender, it causes sympathy and charity. As it melts the heart in contrition towards God, so in compassion towards others.

The more you see your own flaws and sins, the more precious, electrifying, and amazing God’s grace appears to you.

To have God do for us the things we cannot do for ourselves - that is grace.

The most glorious works of grace that have ever taken place have been in answer to prayer.

No second definite work of grace is necessary; but it is necessary for us to abide in Christ by the exercise of the same simple faith that brought us into Him.

By grace we are plucked out of Adam, the ground of all evil, and grafted in Christ, the root of all goodness. In Christ God loved us, his elect and chosen, before the world began.

Pray for the grace to pray; pray for the spirit of prayer; and the God of all mercy and grace will show forth His power.

Faith is the principal saving grace, and unbelief the chief damning sin.
