Biography
Arome Osayi was born on 2 December 1977 in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria, the fifth of seven children of Paul Ameh Osayi, a civil servant, and Mamuna Osayi, a nurse. He grew up in a Christian home in which his parents placed considerable importance on faith and spiritual instruction. According to accounts published by his ministry, he professed faith in Christ at the age of seven. He was born with facial palsy that affected his speech and part of his face. He has described a formative religious experience at thirteen, during which he believed God called him to speak His word to others and his speech difficulties were relieved. This account belongs to his own testimony and is not an independently documented medical history.
Osayi studied chemistry at Benue State University in Makurdi, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He subsequently undertook Nigeria's National Youth Service Corps programme in Kano State. His ministry biography identifies October 2002 as an important period in which he came to understand his vocation more clearly, particularly a calling to help renew what he describes as apostolic Christianity. His early development was closely associated with sustained prayer, study of Scripture, and a desire to bring Christian belief into ordinary conduct rather than confine it to preaching.
In 2004 he joined Nigeria's Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency as a pioneer employee. He worked there for sixteen years while developing his ministry. His simultaneous professional and preaching responsibilities became part of his teaching about Christian responsibility in workplaces and public life. He has often argued that spiritual authority should be evident in character, integrity, obedience, and service rather than in titles, publicity, or displays of religious power.
In December 2006, Osayi founded Remnant Christian Network, commonly called RCN. Based in Makurdi, the ministry developed around prayer, biblical teaching, discipleship, and the restoration of what it understands to be New Testament patterns of Christian life and ministry. Its stated vision is the rebirth of apostolic Christianity. The network has since developed centres and missionary activity in various Nigerian cities and beyond Nigeria, with work reported in other parts of Africa, Europe, and North America. RCN's work includes conferences, prayer gatherings, teaching programmes, and the training of ministers. Osayi has also been associated with the RCN Adullam Bible and Theology College, which provides biblical and ministry instruction.
His preaching frequently addresses prayer and the ministry of the Word, personal holiness, spiritual discernment, Christian character, submission to Scripture, and the use of spiritual gifts. He stresses the difference between outward ministry activity and inward transformation, warning that public influence without private discipline can damage a minister's life. He also teaches that comfort and social recognition should remain secondary to service and obedience. Accounts of healings and spiritual experiences appear in his ministry's reporting; such claims should be distinguished from independently established historical facts.
Osayi has written books including Kingdom Recalibration, Birthing His Excellence, Go Into All the World, Choice: Man’s Most Important Power, Godward, An Epistle to the Apostles in the Marketplace, Decimating Demonic Devices, and A Treatise on Christian Ministry. Through these writings, recorded sermons, and conferences, he addresses Christian discipleship and ministry formation as well as his understanding of apostolic practice.
He is married to Dinna Osayi, and his official biography states that they have three children. As a living Nigerian Christian leader, Osayi continues to be identified with Remnant Christian Network and its emphasis on prayer, Scripture, discipleship, and Christian witness. His contribution is best understood through the ministry he established, the training and teaching it continues to provide, and the enduring emphasis of his messages: that the life of a Christian should be governed by the Word of God and shaped through prayer and obedience.
