Biography
William Folorunso Kumuyi's path into ministry passed through mathematics and university teaching. The official biography issued by Global Crusade with Kumuyi records his first-class mathematics degree at the University of Ibadan and his work as a lecturer at the University of Lagos. It describes his personal Christian commitment as the foundation of his later evangelistic vocation.[1]
In 1973 he began a Bible study with fifteen people in his Lagos apartment. That gathering became the beginning of Deeper Life Bible Church. The transition is central to his story: sustained teaching in a small setting developed into an international church ministry.[1]
Kumuyi eventually left academic employment to devote himself to pastoral work and evangelism. His public ministry combines Bible teaching with evangelistic meetings, including the Global Crusade with Kumuyi. The organisation's biography is a firsthand institutional account of its founder; its descriptions of global impact express the ministry's own assessment.[1]
The account available in 2026 presents him as a continuing minister, so no final life endpoint is assigned here. His place in Nigerian Christianity rests on the development of Deeper Life and a long commitment to communicating Scripture through teaching and evangelism.[1]
