Spirit Broods

Privacy.

How account and participation data are handled.

Public library

The public Spirit Broods library remains readable without an account.

Accounts

Account data is used to provide saved material, private reading history, reading-plan progress, testimony submissions and notification preferences. Reading history and individual Bible-reading progress are not public.

Testimonies

Original testimony submissions and moderator notes remain private. Only an approved public version may be published. If an account is deleted, a previously approved testimony may remain published in the approved form unless a withdrawal request is made; the account relationship is removed where possible.

Data controls

Members can export personal data, clear reading history, manage notifications and request account deletion. Newsletter subscription is separate from account registration.

Administration

Administrative access is limited by staff role. Staff should not view private reading history merely because technical access exists.

For You participation

Reflections posted in For You are public. They appear as Community reader; your account identifier is kept private. You can remove your own reflection. Likes and shares count distinct participating accounts. These actions and your reflections are included in your account data export and removed when your account is deleted.

Reading suggestions on this device

Quotation suggestions use the topics and authors you explore and the quotation actions you choose. These preferences are stored in your browser, without raw search text, and are not sent to the server. They fade over time. Pause adaptation or reset the preferences in Recommendation settings. Saved items and Community participation keep their existing account controls.

Infrastructure and security

Hosting and account infrastructure process information needed to deliver the service, protect sign-in and provide your requested features. Current infrastructure includes Vercel and Supabase. Access to private records is restricted by account ownership and staff permissions. No online service can promise absolute security.

Readership and device storage

Optional readership measurement requires your permission and respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Public page counts and reading-time aggregates are kept separately from member records. Account pages and administration are excluded. See Cookies & Device Storage for device caches, preferences and controls.

Requests and retention

Use account settings to export your records, clear reading history or request deletion. Some reviewed public contributions and operational records may need separate review. We do not promise instant removal from backups or records that must be retained. For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests, contact spiritbroods@gmail.com and identify the account concerned without sending a password or authenticator code.
