Burning Fire Shut Up in My Bones

🔥 His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not. – Jeremiah 20:9 Jeremiah was weary. Every time he spoke the Word of the Lord, he was mocked, beaten, and thrown into prison. His heart longed for rest. He resolved within himself that he would remain silent, that he would no longer declare the Word. But silence was impossible, because the Word of God was not like ordinary speech. It was fire. It was not a gentle ember resting in his heart. It was a blazing flame locked in his very bones. To contain it was torment. To suppress it was impossible. The more he tried to hold back, the more it consumed him, until at last he opened his mouth and released what God had spoken. This is the mark of every man and woman who has carried a true word from God. It is not a hobby. It is not a choice. It is a burden of fire that will not let you rest until it is declared. When the apostles were threatened and commanded not to speak in the name of Jesus, they answered that they could not help speaking about what they had seen and heard. Fire cannot be silenced. The Spirit does not allow compromise. The Word of God, when it burns inside you, must come out, no matter the cost. If His Word truly dwells in you, it will burn until it is released. You cannot carry the flame of heaven and stay quiet. Real fire will consume your excuses. Real fire will break through your fear. Real fire will make you a voice that shakes your generation. If you carry His Word, you carry a flame. Speak until it consumes.
